This mission trip was exciting because it was the first one with the whole family. My wife went along with our youngest son for the first time!
For this trip we were primarily working with Pastor Marlin. We helped clean up his thrift store, hung up a sign, organized his products. Then we went to his community center and hosted VBS. My wife and I led arts and activities. It was a great time and so many neighborhood kids showed up. The kids got to do finger painting, made marshmallow catapults, tried to work through an obstacle course and had a pinata with candy at the end. At the other stations they sang songs and learned how to trust Jesus like the disciples did when He calmed the storm.
I was proud of my youngest son for helping out, being patient, and trying new foods. He loved looking for shells on the ocean. I think it was a special trip for all of us.
