My oldest son and I got to go to Man Camp again this April. It’s not quite the same as going to Liberia, but it is fun going with a large group of men. We split up into 5 different groups and got to help out with a variety of different projects. Also, I invited my brother on this trip and he also going to join in on serving the community in Puerto Penasco.

My son and I worked at Pastor Edgar’s women’s shelter. He has a modular design where he can incrementally add housing as he gets more women that need his support. Over the weekend we poured the foundation for the final two rooms on the first floor. Eventually he plans to add a second floor of rooms also. It was hard work, but we had enough people to make it go by quickly.

Overall it was a really good weekend to build relationships and help out the community. The second image was taken by one of the other men on the trip (our roommate, Eric). It reminds me of the flow of God’s plan through us. The moon can’t shine on it’s own, but only reflects the sun. Similarly God’s power works through individuals so that we can reflect His plan and give glory back to God. It looks like one large circle in the image.
