Miracle is not shy or quiet.  “Everyone knows me on this campus.”  She is always talking to someone.  She went to Girl Shine Academy for high school.  Then she transferred to African Bible College.  Then she graduated in May.  She is very outgoing, but she also makes time for writing and reflection.  How does she do it?  She’s got a gift.

This is her reflection of the trip.  It’s not her first activity with Live Love Malawi.  She has met Paul multiple times.  How can she reflect on the trip and understand my feelings better than I do myself?

7 days make a week…
but somebody explain this to me
How did one week
feel like a month?
How did seven sunsets
carry so many stories?
How did seven mornings
hold so much of God?
Because I came to camp counting days.
Day one.
Day two.
Day three.
And somewhere between serving, praying, laughing, and showing up,
I stopped counting days…
and started counting miracles.
I watched strangers become family.
No
I watched family happen.
I watched God walk into ordinary moments
and leave His fingerprints everywhere.
In the worship.
In the conversations.
In the late-night prayers.
In the moments when nobody was watching
but heaven was still working.
And serving?
Serving changed me.
Because I thought ministry was about what I could give.
But God kept asking,
What if I brought you here to receive?
So while my hands were busy serving,
my heart was busy healing.
While I was pouring out,
God was pouring in.
Grace.
Strength.
Joy.
Purpose.
One day at a time.
And now the week is ending.
But I stand here confused.
Because calendars insist
that only seven days have passed.
Yet my spirit swears
it has been a month.
A month of growth.
A month of wonder.
A month of watching God do what only God can do.
So no
This was never just a week.
This was a reminder.
That when God is in a place,
time stops behaving normally.
Seven days make a week.
But in the hands of God,
one week can become a testimony.
And what a testimony this has been.

And on becoming a disciple of Jesus; how does she know my struggles?  How can she still relate to God and call Him her love?  What is this relationship supposed to be like when it seems so complicated?

None of you has ever seen more breakups than my love life with God.
One day we’re talking for hours, the next day I leave His messages unopened.
I tell Him, I need space, then come running back when life gets loud.
My Lover,
On a normal day, I’d be spamming You with complaints.
I’d be asking why some prayers are still pending, w
hy some wounds still sting,
why some doors closed right in front of me.
But today?
Today, I just want to say thank You.
Thank You for staying through every version of me the faithful me,
the doubtful me, the grateful me, and the me that almost gave up.
Thank You for not treating me the way I treated You.
Because if I were You, I would’ve left a long time ago.
Yet every time I walked away, You called me back.
Every time I got tired, You carried me.
Every time I doubted Your heart, You proved Your love again.
Sometimes things don’t really go the way I want.
Sometimes Your wait feels too long.
Sometimes Your silence feels too loud.
But when I look back, I see Your fingerprints everywhere.
In the prayers You answered. In the prayers You didn’t.
In the blessings I celebrated. In the heartbreaks that redirected me.
You have been good to me in ways I didn’t notice at the time.
So today, I won’t ask for anything.
No wishlist. No complaints. No negotiations.
Just thank You.
Thank You for the grace that chased me.
Thank You for the mercy that found me.
Thank You for loving me through every breakup until I finally understood
You were never the one leaving.
You never left.
And for that, my Lover, all I have to say is
Thank You.

How does she understand my struggle with religion?   How can she cry out and yet still hear the answer?  How is it that her words can speak directly to me even though our worlds are 10000 miles apart?

Lord, why did You make me wait?
Because you were asking for something big,
and your heart was not ready to carry it yet.
I needed to teach you patience before the blessing arrived.
Lord, why did You make me wait so long?
Because you kept chasing things that were not meant for you.
If I had answered too early,
you would have settled for less than what I planned.
Lord, why did You make me wait while others moved ahead?
Because their journey is not yours.
What I am building in your life takes time,
and comparison was stealing your peace.
Lord, why did You make me wait through disappointment?
Because some closed doors were protecting you.
You saw rejection,
but I saw what would have broken you later.
Lord, why did You make me wait when I was tired of praying?
Because even in silence, I was working.
Not every answer grows quickly,
and not every blessing arrives loudly.
Lord, why did You make me wait through all the pain?
Because one day you will understand
that the waiting changed you, healed you,
and prepared you for the life you prayed for.

She is working on a book of poems.  The plan is to have artists from The Grove in Arizona illustrate it for her so she can continue to tie together people even though they live worlds apart.
